SBE’s Interactive Online Webcast powered by Jetcast
Live Q&A between members and SBE leadership

(New York, NY) October 4, 2007 – Global streaming company Jetcast, Inc. teams up with the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) to provide the technology for a special Webcast, “The SBE and You”, on Tuesday, October 9, from 8:00PM to 9:00PM, EDT. The interactive session will feature live questions from SBE members as well as comments from SBE’s national leaders.

“With this Webcast, the SBE debuts a new dimension in online member services,” remarked Tom Zarecki, Senior Marketing Executive at Jetcast. “Jetcast is proud to be offering this high-bandwidth, low-cost audio/video streaming technology to the SBE and to any of its member stations,” he continued. “And afterwards, that same link will continuously replay the event 24/7 for those who couldn’t attend live.”

“We are very pleased to be working with Jetcast which makes it possible for those members who cannot attend to view the program,” said John Poray, SBE Executive Director.

The majority of the Webcast will be devoted to an open question-and-answer session where members can e-mail, call or IM questions which will be answered live by the SBE officers, board members or national staff. Hosted by SBE President Chriss Scherer and President-elect Barry Thomas, the program will discuss current activities, provide insight into the latest educational initiatives and update ongoing projects and programs.

Individual SBE members and chapters are encouraged to participate. A link from the SBE Website www.SBE.org will be activated shortly before the program begins.

The program itself will originate from the AZCAR training studios in Pittburgh, PA, where that company produces broadcast engineer training programs for the Sprint/Nextel 2 GHz conversion.

Jetcast Streaming for Radio Goes to Work - ‘Migration of millions’ hearing radio online while working

(Minneapolis, MN) July 2, 2007 – Global radio streaming company Jetcast, Inc. offered a litany of online programming ideas Saturday at a national gathering of radio programming executives.

Veteran radio programmer and broadcast technology consultant Michael Dalfonzo of Jetcast was a speaker in Minneapolis on June 30th at the 32nd annual Conclave, an educational seminar to improve broadcast quality by serving the public interest. Dalfonzo appeared during “The Next Big Thing” session, a panel of industry experts moderated by Joel Denver of All Access.

Exodus of ears

“There’s a ‘migration of millions’ going on every day, “explained Dalfonzo. People waking up with radio in their home and car are then seeking similar channels on their computer at work. The clear message today,” he continued, “Is that listeners are already streaming radio at work in large numbers because terrestrial stations themselves are heavily promoting their online streams.”

He cautioned that stations still not streaming to at-work listeners are losing out on this daily exodus of ears. Dalfonzo provided ideas for the radio programmers in attendance to further target online listeners, with an “Online Lunch Club” for online-only contesting, promoting benefits of in-car listening to streamers, and filling terrestrial spot breaks with more music online. “Instead of PSA’s,” he said, “These are perfect slots to showcase new music to online listeners, and then promote that feature to your terrestrial listeners.”

Dalfonzo also called for stations to immediately stop airing free commercials and begin selling that valuable inventory. “Tons of cash is left on the table every broadcast day”, said Dalfonzo, adding, “A station’s ‘bonus’ to on-air advertisers by also streaming terrestrial commercials makes the station’s stream and Web site feel less valuable.”

About Jetcast

Introduced to the radio industry at the Spring 2007 NAB, Jetcast is the first service of its kind driven by experienced radio veterans, offering dependable streaming services with high bandwidth at very low cost while eliminating artificial listener “caps” imposed by traditional streaming companies. At NAB Convention, Radio Streaming Technology From Jetcast Affirms Bottom-line Savings To Broadcasters

Stations can be "Jetcasting" (streaming) from their own Web site within 24 hours of making the commitment, using their existing graphics and industry standard Windows Media® Player as a convenience to station listeners

Media Advisory

NEW YORK Apr 17, 2007 --- At the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) annual convention in Las Vegas this week, Jetcast unveils its high-bandwidth, high-quality streaming to address the growing costs of broadcast streaming for radio broadcasters.

At a fixed cost per month, the Jetcast technology debut reveals Jetcast's commitment to high quality audio, removing pricing and space barriers for stations in the U.S. and worldwide.

Driven by experienced radio veterans, Jetcast's goal for the first service of its kind is to save stations money on streaming costs, improving audio quality and eliminating artificial listener "caps" to simultaneous listening imposed by other companies. The massive Jetcast grid of multiple servers have been field-tested and is currently in operation throughout the world as the New York-based firm launches its broadcast model to the radio industry.

New technology breeds lower costs

"Stations are quite eager to hear about economical streaming ideas to save big money," says Michael Dalfonzo of Jetcast, a veteran radio programming, research and software executive. "At the same time, Jetcast's new technology increases stations' bandwidth for higher audio quality.'

"Jetcast reverses the model of stations being penalized for online success," adds industry columnist Tom Zarecki who joins Jetcast with decades of radio programming, consulting and studio automation experience. He continues, "Typically, the more people streaming a station, the higher that station's monthly bill. Even with huge Internet listening spikes, stations using Jetcast can have unlimited simultaneous listeners for the same low price each month."

Stations can be Jetcasting (streaming) from their own Web site within 24 hours of making the commitment, using existing graphics and industry standard Windows Media(R) Player as a convenience to station listeners.
